Sarah Appleton, MBA and CFO Consultant, helps business owners reach their goals through intentional decision-making, a clear financial path, and a partnership with the management team.
After leaving large corporations, Sarah began working at a business in the private equity sector. As head of Finance, she managed a team of accounting and HR personnel to successfully mitigate a liquidity crisis and coordinated risk management activities such as self-insured healthcare and property and casualty insurance programs.
Sarah also supported the sale of the business to a four-billion-dollar company by developing relationships with lenders, investment bankers, and buyers. As an integral part of the sales team, Sarah worked with investment bankers to create the CIM and coordinated with outside auditors on the quality of earnings audit, development of transaction materials, and creation of presentation content. Sarah was also a presenting member of the team during numerous presentations with multiple buyers. She developed a working relationship with capital providers and bankers that created trust and allowed for continued support throughout the sales process. This support allowed for a successful sale and business transition to the new owners.
After a two-year stay with the business, Sarah decided it was time for a new challenge where she could use her experience to impact the growth and development of other small businesses. She is uniquely positioned to provide expertise in leadership, finance and accounting and the successful transition of a business in the sales process.
Sarah earned her BBS in Business and Finance from Tri-State University and an MBA from Trine University.
