A highly accomplished C-level executive with significant operating and financial management expertise backed by more than 30 years of hands-on experience driving the growth, profitability, and increasing shareholder value of high-growth companies in e-commerce, technology and manufacturing industries. Rob’s career focus has been with entrepreneurial, middle market companies (revenues $15 million – $750 million) both venture capital backed and publicly traded. Rob has been the Chief Financial Officer of several privately held, entrepreneurial, venture capital backed, companies (Buy.com, TheLadders, Karmaloop, Yapstone). Rob has also been the Chief Financial Officer and/or the Chief Accounting Officer of several publicly traded companies (Pairgain Technologies, Triconex Corporation, Buy.com). These companies were either ecommerce or technology design and manufacturing (hardware & software) businesses. Rob as been the CFO, and advisor to five (5) Founder/CEO run businesses. As a result of Rob’s experience working with these companies, he has a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by young growing companies as they scale their operations and businesses.
As CFO of Pairgain Technologies (Nasdaq: PAIR), Rob was directly involved in the negotiations and led the due diligence for the Pairgain’s highly successful merger with ADC Telecommunications, in a transaction valued at $2.9 billion. Also, while at Pairgain, Rob also actively participated in the acquisition of a complimentary technology company for $94 million, and the sale of its mirco-electronics group for $300 million. As CFO of Buy.com, Rob developed and implemented a restructuring plan that reduced operating expenses by $85 million, and reduced operating losses more than $100M annually. In August 2001, Rob led Buy.com’s going private transaction. In 2005, Rob led an IPO Registration Statement and Roadshow process for Buy.com. In 2011, Rob participated in Yapstone’s closing of a $50 million equity round. In 2012, while CFO of Karmaloop, Rob led the due diligence and closing of a $21 million term-loan.
Rob has a wealth of international experience, having established FP&A, accounting, legal and administrative operations for subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, Middle-East, Africa and South America.
