Bob Baker
CFO Consultant
Bob Baker is an accomplished International finance executive and strategist with over 30 years of experience leading profitable global business expansion for public and privately held companies conducting operations in the retail, distribution and service industries.
His career started at Touche Ross where he provided audit and advisory services primarily to clients in the retail industry. He was hired by Toys “R” Us to be their Corporate Controller and ultimately promoted to VP Finance and Administration of their International operations in Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia. In this role, Mr. Baker also consulted with and advised Toys “R” Us franchise partners in Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with respect to the startup of their operations in these countries.
Most recently Mr. Baker served as the International CFO for Systemax, a publicly held B2B IT reseller, with operations in Europe. He managed 7 European operating divisions with a focus on Sox controls, accounting policies and procedures, International treasury operations, sales commission plans, VAT, real estate leasing, contract review, human resources, system implementations and acquisitions. From an operating perspective Bob has managed teams performing credit and sales order release, accounts receivable collections, accounts payable, T&E and payroll and benefits processing. Bob’s latest project was a strategic review and eventual decision to move of all back office, non-selling operations from Western Europe to a shared service center in Budapest, Hungary cutting millions of dollars of costs out of the operating budget.
Mr. Baker received a BS in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and he is a CPA.
