Howard Brover is a senior finance executive with hands-on CFO experience who has successfully led acquisition integrations and improved processes and controls.
Howard was CFO at Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, a $16 million multi-regional nonprofit organization, where he oversaw Finance and Technology. He was a strategic partner to the CFO and leadership team, and improved the organization’s budgeting and cash forecasting, developed a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework for the Board of Directors, and updated the organization’s governing documents including bylaws, investment policy, and audit committee charter.
He previously held leadership roles at Pearson in several high visibility projects which included:
- Pearson’s global finance transformation program
- Acquisition integration of Harcourt Assessments
- Acquisition integration and interim CFO of eCollege, a $60m SaaS provider of eLearning software and services
- Pearson’s initial Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Compliance program, leading a team of internal and external financial professionals
He was divisional CFO at Prentice Hall Direct, a direct marketing-driven publishing division of Simon & Schuster, where he was responsible for budgeting, planning, financial modeling, and reporting and led numerous continuous improvement initiatives. When Pearson decided to exit the business, he led financial due diligence for divestitures to 3 buyers, and managed transition of unsold assets and staff reduction and liquidation plan.
Howard received an MBA from the University of Michigan, and a BS from State University of New York at Albany with a double major in Business Administration and Economics.
