David Lechner is a seasoned Chief Financial Officer, with significant experience advising companies on a number of strategic alternatives and ongoing business operations. He has over $25 billion of M&A, restructuring and capital markets experience, with a special emphasis on telecom, technology/SaaS and industrial companies. He has worked on dozens of integrations and carve outs as well. He has worked on transactions across North and South America, Western Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
He regularly provides Fractional CFO and CEO advisory work for early stage companies, helping them establish first time GAAP policies and procedures, create / clean up accounting records, perform requisite board reporting and meeting management, investor relations, raise capital and navigate tight liquidity challenges. He also helps companies streamline processes to reduce costs, whether related to a recent acquisition or just to improve regular business performance. Sample CFO clients include a B2B supply chain SaaS company, a B2B and B2C marketplace services company, an advanced medical device company, a real estate SaaS company, an electronic medical records company, a heavy equipment manufacturer and a commercial maintenance service company. Mr. Lechner also regularly provides corporate strategy and due diligence services for large companies, private equity firms and hedge funds and has worked on dozens of such projects in recent years.
Previously he was Chief Financial Officer of a blockchain technology company that he helped grow to 90 FTEs and $100 million of runrate revenue. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Corporate Development at Zayo, a telecom company, where he drove a number of acquisitions, integrations and public marketing financings. Prior to going ‘in-house’, Mr. Lechner worked in investment banking at Canaccord Genuity, Jefferies and Rothschild, with a special emphasis on high yield / leveraged finance, debt advisory, turnaround management and bankruptcy/restructuring work. During his time in investment banking he worked on over $20 billion of transactions such as M&A, equity and debt financings, both in the public and private markets. David began his career in Accenture’s Communications and High Tech group focusing on operations management. There he regularly worked on improving companies’ supply chain, manufacturing and distribution processes as well as systems and merger integrations.
Mr. Lechner holds a Masters in Business Administration from New York University and an Honors in Business Administration from Western University (Canada).
